What is “Strong Timbers”?

Strong Timbers™ is the brand name for East Teak's commercial services division. The brand represents the properties of the woods that we carry - extremely durable, long-lasting hardwood timbers.

Strong means that these hardwoods species stand up to the environmental stresses put forth upon them - from heavy foot and vehicle traffic to strong storms; from salt air to termites and marine borers; from heavy superstructures resting upon them to waves crashing into them.

Strong Timbers last decades in service. They are recyclable and reusable. They stand the test of time.

Featured Hardwood

Ipe - aka Brazilian Walnut

Ipe is an extremely hard, dense and durable South American hardwood that is highly resistant to rot, decay, and degradation due to termites or marine borers. Ipe generally has a straight grain pattern and varies in color from light browns, olives and reddish hues to dark chocolate. This color variation gives Ipe its beauty.

Ipe is typically used as deck facing, but also used sometimes as structural timbers. Depending upon wear and tear, Ipe can last decades in service and can be recycled and reused at the end of its service life.
